Born out of a passion for good chocolate by Yogyakarta-based Belgian, Thierry, Monggo offers uniquely Indonesian flavours. The best cocoa beans are selected from the Javanese, Sumatran and Celebes plantations and infused with everything from chili to nutmeg to ginger. These chocolates make great gifts and come in attractive packaging. You can even custom order wrappers for special celebrations. All their production is still based in Yogyakarta and is a great place to visit.

Yekti designs her beads and uses recycled perfume bottles to have them made. They are beautiful, as is her Javanese house where you go to design your own. Her helpers will help you choose and design your jewelry, and will put it together for you. It’s a great place to bring visitors. Call ahead to make sure she is open, and to get directions as it is a little tricky.
