Also known as Yayasan Balita Sehat, FMCH Indonesia has been working since 2001 with families living in poor, vulnerable communities to reduce malnutrition and improve health among children under five years old and to empower their mothers to become economically independent.
Many families face numerous challenges including vulnerable employment, inadequate water and sanitation and limited education. To help combat these many problems, a holistic programme has been developed to try and alleviate the causes of undernutrition and poverty among vulnerable families. Our work in Jakarta, surrounding areas and West Timor focuses on:
Health and nutrition education for parents, factory workers and community health workers
Medical support for families and communities they work with
Early Learning Centre (ELC) for children from 3 to 6 years old
Income generation skills for ELC mothers to become economically independent
Pregnancy support for women from vulnerable communities
You can buy great gifts, costumes and other products handmade by the women they work with – for more info, see their Shop.
