hospitalsAsk around among your women friends who have recently given birth here for recommendations. Choosing your doctor will determine the hospital in which you will deliver.

As anywhere, be sure to take a tour of that hospital’s maternity ward and nursery, and possibly their NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit), with your husband so you will be familiar with the facility and their policies. Sometimes hospitals want to limit who is in the delivery room with you during labor, so you may have to choose between your husband, sister, midwife or mother, etc. Check to see if the obstetrician will be attending the delivery and, if you want a epidural, be sure to ask if there is an anesthetist on call 24-hours for you!
